Call from Gmail

We can now call anywhere in the US and Canada for free from Gmail and other countries for a very low rates. All we have to is to download and install a small plugin.
After we installed the plug-in on our computer, then we can call anyone from Gmail.

Any thoughts on how this compares with Skype Unlimited (apart from the pricing)? I’m still waiting for Google Voice to come to Canada.
Promod,
Personally, I prefer Skype at this point because it support more features, e.g. group video call, screen sharing. But the truth is I don’t think it would take Google too long to catch up. So at the end, it would be features, quality and price that determine my preference.
Call from Gmail is Google Voice, a few people from Canada actually email me that they couldn’t use it. I don’t know why I am so lucky.
Are you able to use it on your Gmail?
I just tried calling myself from Gmail. It worked but the sound quality was not as good as a normal phone call. Google Voice is a more robust service that gives users a free phone number, voicemail etc. I have an account in the US (grandfathered after Google bought GrandCentral) but I can no longer access it after my mobile number changed.
I have Skype Unlimited, which let’s me phone anywhere in Canada or the US for about $3 US per month. I’d like to get a SkypeIn number so that people could reach me from their phones. That feature isn’t available in Canada yet.
Can you please call yourself from both Gmail and Skype on the same machine and see if there is any quality difference. Just want to compare apple with apple.
